What we cannot work on in this program.

While this program can work on a broad range of training needs, this is NOT appropriate for...

  1. Separation anxiety, isolation anxiety, or containment phobia

  2. Aggression

  3. Reactivity

  4. Other behavioral rehab needs

If your dog experiences this type of behavioral challenge talk to us about enrolling in a different program.

Program Framework

This is a fully immersive training experience for your dog. They will live with me and my family 24/7 as if they were one of our own. This means they must coexist with my personal dogs and cats.

Dogs over 6 months must be up-to-date on core vaccinations (rabies and distemper/parvo) or have received titer equivalents. Puppies 6 months and younger, while not required to have completed their core vaccinations, should be on a designated vaccination schedule with a licensed veterinarian. I encourage dogs to also receive vaccinations for bordetella and canine flu, but it is not required.

All dogs of appropriate age must be kept up-to-date on their flea/tick and heartworm preventatives during their stay.

All programs begin on Fridays.

The first three days of the program are considered the trial period, during which you must be available to reclaim your dog should it be decided this program is not a good fit.

Failure to reclaim your dog within 12 hours of being asked to do so will incur a $500 per day charge in addition to any payments already completed for the program.

Please note, females that go into heat during their program will be asked to return home until their heat is finished. After that time, they can return to complete their program when there is an opening in the schedule to do so.

Your dog will receive one active training session each day (up to one hour) and will be engaged in passive training all day everyday.

Weekends are set aside as rest days for your dog and I. We will only focus on passive training on those days.

Your dog will have supervised access to our fully fenced one acre property.

Family visits can be scheduled at your home for programs spanning 1 month or more.

Regular updates will be sent via email.

All programs (except for the refresher program) include 4 in-your-home transfer sessions after your dog's stay to ensure smooth transfer of learned skills.

When your dog is unsupervised and/or I am away from home your dog will be crated (with no collar/harness and without access to any choking hazards).

My home is equipped with security cameras inside and out that can be monitored remotely when I am away.

This is my private residence, and I have a zero-tolerance policy for unscheduled visits. Should this occur, you must reclaim your dog immediately, and no payments will be refunded in this scenario.

Long-Term Stays

You will be asked to setup an auto-ship schedule for your dog's food and essentials for the duration of your dog's stay (when available).

In the event I am traveling during your dog's stay you will have the option to bring your dog home with you until I return, or they can stay with my dogs and my in-home sitter. Your stay total will be prorated should you decide to bring your dog home during that time.

Setting Expectations

This will not be a magic wand that turns your dog into a robot.

You will need to maintain your dog's skills once they come home or they will regress.

Your dog's skill progression during their stay is contingent on how many total skills/concepts we need to cover, how inherently challenging the skill is, and how individually challenging your dog finds the skill to be. For this reason, I can not predict how progressed your dog will be at the end of their program. However, I can assure you that the progress I will make with your dog, as a professional trainer, will be leaps and bounds more than you could achieve at home in the same time-frame.
